| TEXT SAM Conducted a month long survey during Oct 2005 – Nov 2005. We took to
the streets of London and approached Young people from Hackney, Croydon,
Wembley, GoldersGreen, Brixton, Peckham, Southall, Fulham and Elephant and
Castle. This included ages between 14-19 yrs, male and females, all ethnic origins
and socio-economic groups. |

Our aim was to gather as much information on their habits and opinions relating to
sexual health, relationships, safe sex and to introduce them to TEXT SAM.
Our research has concluded that; 82% said that they would use TEXT SAM 83% felt that they DO NOT have enough knowledge about sex and sexuality 91% will not ask their parents or guardian about sex 68% of 14yr olds have had sex 80% of 14 – 16yr old have had unprotected sex 94% of 14 – 16yr old have no idea where their nearest advice centre or Gum clinic is 96% of 14 – 16yr old have gather information relating to sex from peers |
